Synopsis via Goodreads:
One cold night, in a most unlikely corner of Chicago, two teens—both named Will Grayson—are about to cross paths. As their worlds collide and intertwine, the Will Graysons find their lives going in new and unexpected directions, building toward romantic turns-of-heart and the epic production of history’s most fabulous high school musical.
Hilarious, poignant, and deeply insightful, John Green and David Levithan’s collaborative novel is brimming with a double helping of the heart and humor that have won both them legions of faithful fans.
After reading a couple of serious (at times, seriously BORING) books, I wanted something fun. Boy, did this book deliver! I didn't quite get what the authors were trying to say and I felt like the real main character was not Will Grayson or Will Grayson, but Tiny Cooper, but I didn't feel like I really need a great big inspirational story out of this. I just enjoyed the ride. Both authors really did a great job and making the characters sound real. I felt like I knew Will Grayson and Will Grayson. I felt like I (if I was a human teenage boy) could be Will Grayson or Will Grayson. I will admit that I found John Green's writing way more entertaining. That was the stuff that made me laugh out loud. David Levithan, however, did an awesome job at making his Will Grayson sound like a whiny, annoying emo kid that I wanted to bite in the ankle.... so authentic!
